Discover the principles of faith taught by the mothers of Helaman’s stripling warriors. Read Alma 56:45–48 and 57:21. Review what “The Family: A Proclamation to the World” (see page 101) says about a mother’s role. With a mother, grandmother, or leader, discuss the qualities a woman needs in order to teach children to have faith and to base their decisions on gospel truths. How can these principles help you in your life today and help you prepare to be a faithful woman, wife, and mother? Record your thoughts and feelings in your journal.
If your family isn’t very supportive, reach out to another mother in the ward whom you admire.
Have a mutual activity where mothers from the ward are invited to be interviewed. Consider planning additional activities for the evening as well.
Search the scriptures for other examples of faithful mothers, like Eve, Sarah, Hannah, Mary, Sariah, Emma, and SO MANY MORE.
Print off The Family: A Proclamation to the World with the Young Women’s Theme in black and white, and use markers, pencils, or highlighters in the value colors to highlight certain paragraphs that correspond with that value.

Thank you for this blog. You and it are a godsend. I converted when I was 19. I feel like I missed out on a lot. I decided to do personal progress on my own and felt lost. I had a friend who had done it before and she has become my accountability person. This has helped me find talks and other reading suggestions. Thank you so much!
