Seminary is starting for most youth and this year the required reading is the New Testament. While it’s certainly less daunting than the Old Testament, it’s still pretty hefty. Looking at it all at once is pretty scary, so I like to break things up into smaller, bite-sized chunks. I also like to set reasonable goals before I start. Last year with the Old Testament it this was super helpful, so I’ve done it again with the New Testament.
I’ve broken it up into how many chapters and/or pages you need to read each day to finish the whole book in a certain amount of time. If you’re really daring and have lots of time, you can read it in a week, or you can stretch it out to nine months and finish just before Seminary ends in May. Either way, having some way to pace myself makes a big goal less daunting, and therefore than much more likely to be accomplished.
