I have always had a love/hate relationship with Girls Camp. I am not outdoorsy at all, and being extremely introverted, it grows to be mentally taxing constantly being surrounded by so much energy. However, I’ve learned to survive camp. One thing I’m actually pretty grateful for at camp is the certification. Plenty of it went straight over my head, but some of the practical skills I learned in my first year have stuck with me. At first glance it seems like it’s all survival skills, but after looking it over again recently, I saw plenty of things involving service and leadership opportunities, as well as areas for spiritual growth; things that Personal Progress is designed to foster. With that in mind, I correlated ALL four levels of Girls Camp certification with different value experiences. Obviously, the majority of camp certifications fall under Knowledge 2, which is to learn a new skill, but each level has a handful of things which fall under a variety of values. And of course, Knowledge 7 is meant to be completed after camp, so keep that in mind! These can all be downloaded in one PDF here.

Thanks so much for this – and thank you for your comments about YW camp! I’m not outdoorsy at all – I use the outdoors to get to the library- and I’m also fairly introverted, so the idea of going to my first camp as a YW President fills me with dread. I’m leading the fourth year certification and this will help a lot. Wish me luck.
