As I was thinking about my own goals and resolutio As I was thinking about my own goals and resolutions for this year, I kept thinking about a 2011 #GeneralConference talk from Lynn G. Robbins all about the difference between "to do" and "to be".
"Many of us create to do lists to remind us of things we want to accomplish. But people rarely have to be lists. Why? To do’s are activities or events that can be checked off the list when done. To be, however, is never done."
Kind of daunting, right? But throughout his talk, he focuses on how being and becoming shape us internally. Sometimes they're measurable by outward "to-dos" but a lot of the time they aren't.
Stepping into 2021, instead of focusing on a long list of things I want to do, I'm focusing in on a few simple ways I want to be more like Christ.

I've been reflecting on this past year, and the wo I've been reflecting on this past year, and the word keeps coming to mind is JOY.
2020 has been crazy and hard, but in the midst of struggle and fear and disappointment, I've felt so much peace and joy.
Without Jesus Christ, I honestly don't know where I'd be or how I would've gotten where I am.
The only reason I haven't fallen apart when I've been spread so thin and pushed so far is because of the hope and assurance of Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ is joy. He embodies eternal peace, a brightness of hope, and everlasting happiness.
What are you doing to feel that joy this Christmas?

Aren't mountains amazing? ⛰️ Over Thanksgivin Aren't mountains amazing? ⛰️
Over Thanksgiving I got to drive from Idaho to California, and saw so many beautiful mountains along the way - especially in Utah and Arizona.
God has created such a gorgeous world for us, and as I marveled at these mountains, valleys, and canyons, I thought about all the ways mountains symbolize God's power.
He's steady and constant. He elevates us and raises us up. He's incomprehensibly powerful, but we can also come to know him intimately as we walk with him day by day.
How do you come to know God more closely?
