In case regular visitors of this website haven’t noticed, I absolutely love fairy tales being used as metaphors for the gospel. Something that certainly aided in this love for fairy tales is that one of my very first experiences in Young Women’s was watching the General Young Women Conference where Dieter F. Uchtdorf delivered his outstanding talk, “Your Happily Ever After.” Since that talk was given nearly 5 years ago, I have turned to it countless times during various struggles I have faced, and come out refocused on the bigger picture that is God’s Plan of Happiness. A project that I’ve been working on for nearly a year is creating a video presentation of Uchtdorf’s talk comprised of clips from Disney animated films. I know that not everybody appreciates Disney Princess themed additions to their Young Women activities, but for those that do, they should find this to be an enjoyable and edifying video. As I was putting it together, I was touched by different aspects of his talk in ways I hadn’t been before. I laughed and cried, and came to appreciate his metaphor of Happily Ever After on a much deeper level. This video presentation could certainly be used in Young Women lessons, or at New Beginnings, Young Women in Excellence, or Girls Camp. I’ve also created several handouts with an excellent quote from the talk, which can be downloaded below.
This talk is given as a resource for the following Come Follow Me lessons:
- Who am I, and who can I become?
- What is the purpose of life?
Could be used in the following Personal Progress experiences:

Well done!!!! Thank you for sharing this is such a great video, u did a wonderful job!
I love, love, love this but I'm curious as to how anyone is showing this at church? We cannot access YouTube on WiFi in our Church building.
If you're interested in having the video, I can send the video file. It would also be wise to check with the Bishop, as there are different policies related to copyrighted materials being used in church meetings that they may want to consider.
Hello!
I would love to make a copy of the video for my mother-in-law. Could you send me the file? I have tried to download it from YouTube, but am unable.
I would love to have you email the video file. We are wanting to use this at our new beginnings next week. I’m worried if I use the You tube one it will cut out and stop. You did a great job putting this video together!!
Thanks so much for sharing your talents
