Service is an essential principle of family living. Help plan your family’s menus, obtain the food, and prepare part of the meals for two weeks. During that time help your family gather to share mealtimes. Report to your class what you have learned.

Use a Menu Planning sheet as you discuss with your family the meals to prepare in the coming weeks. Take into account any holidays that may be happening, and any activities that may prevent you from preparing meals. Plan accordingly.
You can learn to prepare healthy meals on any budget. Go shopping for the food, and learn to make wise decisions as you shop for what you need.
Remember that it’s not only about preparing meals, but fostering family relationships by gathering to share meals. Even when it’s difficult because of activities, make family meals a priority.
While preparing meals, don’t be afraid to ask a question if you’re unsure of how to do something. You’ll learn a new skill, and find something that may strengthen your relationship with someone.
